Each 13-inch board is handcrafted from solid American hardwood and arranged to showcase the distinctive pattern created by end-grain construction. The circular design provides a generous cutting surface while bringing something different to the countertop or table.

Choose rich, dark Walnut or warm, naturally reddish Cherry. Because every board is made from real wood, variations in color and grain make each one unique.

Why end grain?

End-grain boards are made with the ends of the wood fibers facing upward. When you cut on the surface, those fibers can separate slightly beneath the knife and then close again, helping the board resist visible knife marks while providing a satisfying cutting surface.

Care instructions

Hand-wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry promptly. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Allow the board to dry upright with air circulating around it. Apply food-safe mineral oil or Penguin Plank Board Conditioner whenever the wood begins to look or feel dry.

Natural wood varies in grain and color. The board you receive will have its own individual character and may differ slightly from the photographs.
